Carlson or Freed? (or Peterson?)

Carl Carlson and Augusta Matilda Johanson were married in Sweden on June 10th, 1876. During their marriage, they had 4 children. Carl died on August 13th, 1885. Augusta emigrated to the United States from Sweden in October 1889 with her 4 children. They settled in Scandia, Kansas.

Joseph Peterson and Tilda Christina Johannes were married in Sweden on March 31, 1880. Joseph moved to the United States in 1886. When he was settled in Scandia, Kansas, he sent for his family which arrived in 1887. Joseph and his family took the surname "Freed" after emigrating. Tilda died in 1888.

Augusta remarried in 1890 to Joseph Peterson (Freed), Augusta and her children, took the surname Freed.
