[NI0561] William Henery Niles, born 3/13/1834 at Pleasant Ridge, Ohio. He married Caroline Willey Buxton of Cincinnati, Ohio on 10/1/1854. She was the daughter of William McVey Buxton and Catherine Woodruff Terry, of Buxton Farms, in Cincinnati, Ohio. They later moved to Knabb, Indiana. From there they moved to Liberty, Kentucky and later moved to Grandview, Tennessee. He was a Lumberman. She was born 12/11/1832, died 10/19/1896, and he died 10/15/1902 in Daysville Community in Cumberland County, Tennessee, and they both are buried in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, in Harriman, Tennessee. He fathered nine children. Two, William Buxton Niles and Ellsworth Niles died in Infancy.
[NI0581] John Niles IV was born 3/25/1718. He served as Postmaster General in President Ban Buren's cabinet. The son of John Niles III and Mary (Ely) Niles.
[NI0598] Captain Nathaniel Niles was born at Braintree, Mass. on Aug. 16th, 1642. He was the son of John and Jane Niles. He removed to Rhode Island when a young man. He married Sarah Sands, daughter of Captain James and Sarah (Walker) Sands on February 14, 1671. His home was at South Kingston. He was a Captain of Militia in King Phillips war, Justice of Peace, Grand Juror 1687, member of the Rhode Island Assembly 1705. Owned plantations at South Kingston and on Block Island. By deeds and Will, he distributed his large estate to his children. He died December 22, 1727 at Braintree, Mass. His Will was proved in Rhode Island, February 12, 1727.
[NI0601] Benjamin removed from Braintree to New Shoreham, R.I., later than his brother Nathaniel, but is mentioned in a return of the Lyme town meeting of November 19, 1690. His estate was distributed October 7, 1712 by his sons-in-law. Children, all except the youngest born at New Shoreham.

Executor to his father's will inherited under the family will, the family mansion and two hundred acres of land. He lived part of his life at South Kingston, Rhode Island, and part at Stonington, Conn. He owned three hundred acres of property at Stonington. His first wife was Abigail Hazard, after her death he married Elizabeth Tucker of Rhode Island.

Stonington, Conn., son of Ebenezer and Abigail (Hazard) Niles. Died at Alburg,
Vermont in 1810, where he is buried. Married Desire Pendleton of Westerly, Rhode
Island. Removed to Stephentown, New York prior to the Revolutionary war. About
1800, removed to Alsburg, Vermont. He was commissioned to First Lieutenant in
the Albany County Militia 10/20/1780.

[NI0620] Louis Ralph Niles (Ralph Louis Niles) , born 9/23/1873 in Knabb, Indiana, son of William Henry and Caroline (Buxton) Niles, later moved with his parents to Liberty, Kentucky, and then later moved with his parents to Grandview County, Tennessee, where he met and married Ida Corcelia Lowery, of Cumberland County, Tennessee, December 21, 1892. She died in 1938. He taught school in Cardiff, Tennessee, later following the Lumber Business and Farming. After leaving Cardiff, he bought a nice farm in the early part of 1900 in Glen Alice, Roane County, Tennessee, where he made his home until his death in December 1961. He appointed his son Howard J. Niles, Executor of his Will, leaving his estate to his children, He and his wife are buried in Glen Alice Cemetery. He fathered eight children.
